Netflix releases the teaser trailer of Japanese anime ‘Yasuke’

Netflix has unveiled the teaser trailer and new artwork for all-new anime original Yasuke, from creator/exec producer/director LeSean Thomas (Cannon Busters) and MAPPA Studio (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Jujutsu Kaisen). The new spot lifts the veil on the fantasy-tinged feudal Japan where this historically-inspired hero proves “Honor Has a New Name.”

Netflix released the trailer on their Official Twitter Account, treating fans with the first look at how the animation for Yasuke will look, as well as Lakeith Stanfield’s performance as the titular character that had a role in the real world alongside the legendary figure known as Nobunaga.

Synopsis: In a war-torn feudal Japan filled with mechs and magic, the greatest ronin never known, Yasuke, struggles to maintain a peaceful existence after a past life of violence. But when a local village becomes the centre of social upheaval between warring daimyo, Yasuke must take up his sword and transport a mysterious child who is the target of dark forces and bloodthirsty warlords.

With the series set to release on 29 April, Yasuke features character designs by director/animator Takeshi Koike (Lupin the Third: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine), music by Grammy Award-nominated artist Flying Lotus and award-winning actor LaKeith Stanfield serving as executive producer and the voice of Yasuke.
